Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Unatek is a privately held IT Consulting firm led by an impressive management team that consists of leaders from the technology and business management industries. The team's primary mission is to implement the vision it has articulated for corporate growth and governance. All management team members bring a proven track record in their respective areas of corporate leadership. With services to both the intelligence community and private sector organizations and a mission to protect organizations from both internal and external attacks, our award winning team consists of a diverse team with expertise across the spectrum of public and private sectors including PhDs, hackers, seasoned veterans of the intelligence community, former CISOs, and SOC managers. Our staff’s varied backgrounds span computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, software engineering, security operations management, big data, forensics and reverse engineering. Together, this experience is the force behind our success and the solutions we provide to our customers’ most critical security challenges.

Jung Soo

Jung Choi, Director of Marketing

 

As Director of Marketing, Jung Choi is responsible for marketing Unatek and developing its business relations in both federal and commercial markets.

As the primary driver of the Unatek digital marketing initiative, he leads all corporate civilian marketing activities as well as drives growth opportunities for Unatek in the IT Security Services Vertical. Leading the business development team from the front he also works closely with the pursuit team to establish a win strategy and themes that are customer focused and benefits driven. Jung manages all aspects of proposal development, including overall management, volume leadership, and production support.

A graduate of Korea University Business School, Jung has significant business development experience and previously interned at Unatek.

Shantharam Shamarao

Shantharam Shamarao, Offshore Product Development Managing Consultant

Shantharam as the Managing Consultant of Unatek's offshore product development leads the development of the security software products in Bangalore, India. With over 17 years' experience, Shantharam successfully delivered the subscriber-based intrusiononline analyst project and is currently leading development of a soon to be released commercial grade security software product.

An expert in User Experience (UX), he brings a wide range of expertise on building rich user interfaces across all  customer applications and products leveraging latest technologies. For well over a decade, he has been leading successful product and services deliveries for more than 310 websites, 120 web applications 20 portal systems for more than 200 global customers.

Theresa Iheagwara

Theresa Iheagwara, Director of Training and Corporate Affairs

 

As Director, Theresa handles customer and corporate training projects, customer relations, business development and company operations.

Theresa attended Bowie State University and holds multiple advance degrees including a Masters degree (M.Ed.) in Educational Administration and Planning. Theresa’s successful career includes leadership positions at many prominent educational organizations. She specializes in client training planning and customer care and brings this unique skill set to Unatek.

Michael Laric

Dr. Laric is Co-Director of the Center for Technology Commercialization at the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business where he is a Professor of Marketing and Entrepreneurship. The author of numerous books, scholarly articles and technical papers, he developed and delivered business and marketing seminars which attracted thousands of managers in North America, Europe and the Middle East.

Dr. Laric has over 35 years of experience in business and marketing. He holds a BA in Economics and Political Science and an MA in business from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. His Ph.D., in Marketing is from the City University of New York. A certified New Products Development Professional, Dr. Laric has consulted with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and startup companies in the areas of new products' strategy, technology commercialization and business formation.

Since coming to the University of Baltimore, Dr. Laric has also served as Chair of the Marketing Department, Academic Associate Dean of the Merrick School, and most recently as the Director of the Management and Marketing Division. He serves on the boards of several privately-owned start-ups.

Ralph S. Blakeney

Ralph S. Blakeney is the Acting Program Director and Technology Procurement Specialist at the Maryland Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). He specializes in providing Management and Technical Assistance to technology companies seeking to offer their products and services to federal, state and local governments.

Over the past 4 years, in the capacity of Technology Procurement Specialist, Ralph has provided Management and Technical Assistance to scores of technology companies in the areas of federal, state and local government procurement. He has assisted companies in preparing SBIR grant proposals, transferring technologies from federal laboratories, developing business and marketing plans, as well as obtaining state and federal government certifications and schedules. Ralph conducts workshops and seminars that include Marketing to the Federal Government, DoD RFID Requirements and Cost Proposal Preparation.

Ralph was formerly the Executive Manager of Service Operations for Digital Equipment Corporation's Federal Government Computer and Information Technology Services worldwide. He spent 9 years as an entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Peak Performance Technologies, a management consulting and training firm to small and midsized technology companies.

Ralph is a well sought after speaker on government procurement and business management topics and is a board member of various organizations and companies. He holds an Advanced Certificate in Electronic Technology, a B.Sc. in Business Administration, a M.Sc. in Management, is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Management of Service Operations executive program and a graduate of the Pacific Institute of Business and Management Development.

Ajay R. Mishra

Ajay Ranjan Mishra is the Global Head of Industry Environment - India & Emerging Markets, CTO Office for Nokia Siemens Networks.

Ajay graduated in 1997 from the University of Delhi with Masters of Technology in Microwave Electronics and since then he has been working in Nokia/ Nokia Siemens Networks and. His previous roles included Global Head of Business Development (Emerging Markets) and Global Head of Services Innovation Management. Ajay has authored many research papers in technology & management domain. He has also authored three books on Cellular Technologies. He has worked with more than 80 costomers in all six continents of the globe.

Ajay has been appointed Chairman of newly formed Focus Group "Bridging the Digital Divide: From Innovations to Standards" at ITU-T (United Nation). He is also the sits on advisory board of Telecom Center of Excellence at Indian Institute of Management, a top business school in India and also the AITTM (Amity Institute of Telecom Technology & Management). He was invited by Insead Business School in France as "Executive-in-Residence" to work on Innovations Management. He is also a founding Member & Vice-President of Global ICT Standards Forum for India (GISFI) and is on Board of Director and Chairman of Focus Group: New Technologies at CMAI (Communication Multimedia & Infrastructure Association of India). He was a pioneer of Remote Services concept and Transmission Optimisation concept in Nokia. He has been rewarded many times by customers, industry and Nokia.

Ajay's current interests are in business strategy and issues associated with innovations and development of the cellular network globally, both technically and commercially with emphasis on Emerging markets. He is currently based in New Delhi, India.
